CoBlast effectiveness has been demonstrated with corrosion resistant materials such as zinc phosphate, magnesium phosphate, and cerium oxide. These coatings alone offer corrosion resistance and also make excellent primer layers for complete corrosion protection systems. Surface roughening and corrosion resistant primer application are achieved in one VOC-free step, with minimal waiting time before the application of a top-coat.

Lubrication / Wear resistance

CoBlast Skins have achieved a coefficient of friction below 0.15, as measured by the pin-on-disk method. These coatings exhibit significantly reduced wear compared to the untreated substrate.


 

Hydrophobicity

ENBIO offers robust hydrophobic coatings with water contact angles between 130 and 140º. Superhydrophobic CoBlast Skins in development have reached water contact angles of 150° and hysteresis <10° and are relatively robust compared to many available superhydrophobic coatings.
