Long-Lasting Mould Release Coatings
Disruptive Mould Release for Tyres, Footwear, Seals, General Rubber, Silicone and EVA Moulding and Overmoulding
Revolutionary Mould Release Solution From ENBIO: Innovative, Direct-to-Metal & Permanent
ENBIO’s permanent mould release enables enhanced performance, extended capabilities and impressive cost savings. More importantly, it allows our clients to remain competitive in their industry, facilities step-change developments and their own product innovations and unlocks new value and market share.
Key Properties
- Reduces operating costs
- Reduced build-up on mould
- Excellent release properties
- Low thickness: near-zero change to mould dimensions
- Avoids contamination of moulding
- Semi-permanent: no need to reapply for each moulding
Typical Applications
- Extrusion dies and mandrels
- Tyre moulds
- Footwear moulds
- Catheter mandrels
- Hypotubes
- Biomedical implant moulds
ENBIO’s CoBlast Release coating can be applied to steel and aluminium tyre moulds to reduce scrap parts and downtime for mould cleaning over thousands of moulding cycles. The process is free from VOC’s, and the surface texture is tailored to produce a consistent low gloss finish from the first tyre to the last.
PFAS Compliance
ENBIO’s CoBlast release coatings adhere to current (as of 2025) PFAS regulatory standards. Our coatings are formulated from high purity, high-performance polymers, including PTFE, FEP, and PFA, which are applied using a process which requires no binding agents, solvents or VOCs. ENBIO’s release coatings are made from polymeric materials and therefore have stable macromolecular structures that do not dissolve, leach, or bioaccumulate. This is in contrast to smaller PFAS molecules such as PFOA which is used in many traditional release coating processes. ENBIO’s CoBlast release coatings consist of a robust macromolecular architecture that minimizes environmental impact and ensures compliance with stringent safety and regulatory requirements.
Biomedical Implant Moulds
ENBIO’s CoBlast Release coating is used by blue chip biomedical companies for implant moulds. The nature of ENBIO’s patented coating prevents any delamination, and therefore prevents any contamination of the moulddings, which is a key regulatory consideration for biomedical applications. This results in a significant reduction in scrap-rate, resulting in cost-savings.
Anti-Galling
ENBIO’s CoBlast Release coating can be applied to steel or titanium screws or bolts for the space and aerospace sectors. Uncoated screws can lead to seizing and galling.
The process deposits a thin, lubricious coating that enables consistent performance and multiple re-uses (> 50 times for stainless steel bolts).
